Emmergent Curriculum Programming
The focus of emergent curriculum in our infant room is discovery—that’s what infants do during every waking hour!
Infants love sensory activities, soft things, things that make sounds, which is why their
environment is organized in safe, stimulating and interesting ways.
Check out our documentation in the infant room, hall and online to read and see the examples of their learning!
Developing emergent curriculum with toddlers is fun!
They are always on the go.
For toddlers, learning
and discovering is what they love to do.
The environment in our toddler room and beautiful playground
supports their desire for interesting experiences.
The documentation we create throughout the day reflects what the toddler’s engage in, the relationships they develop and the love of learning they bring to everything they do.
The children in our preschool room love to ask questions, tell us stories and invite us into their play.
We love to listen, suggest, help and explain, always extending their learning, providing interesting experiences and documenting what they have said and done.
Emergent curriculum shows us not only what they learn, but how. It shows the process behind the product, for example, how they constructed a block city with their friends and not just what they made..
At the beginning or end of the day, school age children have a special environment which provides time for socialization and learning in a supportive, relaxed atmosphere.
The philosophy based in emergent curriculum encourages early literacy, numeracy, language development and social skills, as well as develops self-esteem, self expression, and cognitive abilities of all kinds.
The use of ipads with this age
group engages them in and documents their learning experiences.
